The limitations of this project were quite small. It could follow any fascination the creator desired but had to be an extension of a previous project in a different course, also chosen by the creator. I chose to connect the flowers from my home state with a project that dealt with planes made of dots and how they can be used to demonstrate depth. I turned my experimentation with different systems into a booklet that informs the viewer about the species of flowers while they flip through the experiments. I wanted to see how many layers of planes it took for the dots to be recognizable as flowers. In most cases, the fourth system can be recognized by the majority of people as a flower, deeming my project a success in my opinion. Under the booklet spreads, you can see all of the flower variations I included in the book. (marsh marigold, fire pink, hepatica, and blue flax in that order)
*I am not the one that took the images of these flowers. The photographers are as follows: Michal C, Eric Hunt, Peter Stenzel, and Kelley Belle.
Booklet is 8.5"x6”
